Microlithography materials
In collaboration with the research group of Prof. Couladouros and the National Research Institute [Demokritos] (Dr P. Argitis, Dr E. Gogolidis) we have developed for Intel Corp. a series of etch resistant anthracene derivatives, which may be used in microlithography processes. Further application of this novel class of compounds in organic electronics such as: Organic Light Emitting Diodes (OLEDs), Organic Field Effect Transistors (OFETs) and Organic Semiconductors, is under investigation.
Slow Release for pheromones
Volatile compounds may be induced to slow release by microencapsulation. RaD holds the "first right" for the preparation of microencapsulated mosquito oviposition pheromone in polyurethane microcapsules. In collaboration with Dr A. Michaelakis of the National Research Institute [Benaki PI], we investigate possible applications of this composite in an environmentally safe mosquito population control, following the [Attract and kill] concept. Chemically speaking, this technology may be applied on other organic substances and induce slow release as well.
Libraries, SS Chemistry
RaD pharma-chemicals has developed a method to prepare libraries of bioactive diketopiperazines utilizing a Solid-supported Schmidt reagent. The latter, which is one of our products available, may be used as starting material for the preparation of pharmacophoric molecules of several categories. During this research we have also synthesized two natural products on a solid supported fashion.
